This
student-centered exchange project is organised by a consortium of 12
universities in the European Union and Canada.
The project will exchange 35 European
students and 49 Canadian students, at the undergraduate and the
graduate level, and coming from disciplines as criminology, sociology
and law, for periods between 4 and 10 months, and it will also involve
faculty exchanges for short periods between 1 and 2 weeks.
Its overall purpose is to improve our knowledge base about the problems
of social injustices and human rights violations, manifested in processes
of social exclusion, segregation, and discrimination. These issues will be looked at and evaluated in
five European countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, and the United
Kingdom) and Canada.
This website is to enhance and facilitate
the learning process for participating exchange students in close
interaction with the academic staff.
But it is also intended to reach a wider public: academics, practitioners,
policy makers, and others who show a vested interest in the issue of
social justice and human rights.
The European and Canadian Globus partners will be introduced at their respective university page. Students can find information on the courses offered, semester schedules, practicum placements, social life in the university cities, etc. Staff people can find information on visiting scholarships.
Finally also, students from the participating universities or others
will be able to receive information on how to make their application
for participation.
